AWS re:Invent 2022 Day 4 - Highlights From Werner Vogels's Keynote
AWS re:Invent started on Nov 28th :) The year’s biggest Cloud event is being held across multiple sites in Las Vegas, NV, Mon, Nov 28, 2022 – Fri, Dec 2, 2022.
Here is a recap of what was announced today (Day 3) on Thursday, Dec. 1
Amazon GameLift now supports customer-managed compute with GameLift Anywhere
The general availability (GA) of Amazon GameLift Anywhere de-couples game session management from the underlying compute resources. Amazon GameLift is a fully managed solution that allows you to manage and scale dedicated game servers for session-based multiplayer games. With this new release, customers can now register and deploy any hardware, including their own local workstations, under a logical construct called an Anywhere Fleet.
Amazon Comprehend announces support for semi-structured document processing
Amazon Comprehend is a Natural Language Processing (NLP) service that provides pre-trained and custom APIs to derive insights from textual data. The new capability simplifies document processing by adding support for many common document types like PDF documents, Microsoft Word file and images in custom classification and custom entity extraction APIs.
Introducing AWS Application Composer (Preview)
AWS Application Composer helps developers simplify and accelerate architecting, configuring, and building serverless applications. You can drag, drop, and connect AWS services into an application architecture by using AWS Application Composer’s browser-based visual canvas.
AWS Step Functions launches large-scale parallel workflows for data processing and serverless applications
AWS Step Functions now expands support for iterating and processing large sets of data such as images, logs and financial data in Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), a cloud object storage service.
Amazon EventBridge Pipes is now generally available
EventBridge Pipes provides a simpler, consistent, and cost-effective way to create point-to-point integrations between event producers and consumers, expanding the EventBridge offering beyond event buses and scheduling. EventBridge Pipes makes it easy to connect your applications with data from sources including Amazon SQS, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Managed Streaming Kafka, self-managed Kafka, and Amazon MQ.
Announcing Amazon CodeCatalyst (Preview)
Amazon CodeCatalyst is a unified software development service that makes it faster to build and deliver software on AWS. CodeCatalyst provides software development teams with an integrated project experience that brings together the tools needed to plan, code, build, test, and deploy applications on AWS.

AWS Ambit Scenario Designer
Todat AWS announced the AWS Ambit Scenario Designer for Unreal Engine 4 (Ambit), a suite of tools to streamline 3D content creation at scale for autonomous vehicle and robotics simulations—and other near-real-time 3D applications. Using Ambit, users can create 3D environments and widely varied simulation scenarios in a fraction of the time required by traditional methods, all without requiring specialized 3D skills.
Curious about Quantum Computing, with Werner Vogels
Dr Werner Vogels explores how what quantum computing is about, current state of quantum computing, challenges of quantum computing and how AWS relates to quantum computing.
Amazon's Distributed Computing Manifesto
Dr Werner Vogels today announced the Distributed computing Manifesto. The Distributed Computing Manifesto is a canonical document from the early days of Amazon that transformed the architecture of Amazon’s ecommerce platform. It highlights the challenges they facing at the end of the 20th century, and hints at where we were headed.
CTO.ai provides a consistent Developer Experience across the entire important part of your software development lifecycle, thus enabling better outcomes and quicker delivery.
