Support for Loading Cross-Architecture Images
The latest release of Kubernetes allows you to load cross architecture images when using kind
load docker-image
or kind
load image-archive
, and now instructs containerd to import all architectures. This means that if you have a multi-arch docker run
enables such as Docker Desktop, you can still load and run pods and images.
Azure CNI Powered by Cilium
Azure CNI powered by Cilium is now live and available of Azure CNI powered by Cilium. This new dataplane came out of a collaboration of Microsoft and Isovalent and combines Cilium with the existing control plane of Azure CNI to bring a high-performance eBPF-based dataplane with extensive security and observability capabilities to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Public Preview of Virtual Pod Autoscaler (VPA)
VPA on AKS is based on the Open-Source Virtual Pod Autoscaler which frees users from the necessity of setting up-to-date resource limits and requests for the container in their pods. When configured, it will set the requests automatically based on usage and thus allow proper scheduling onto nodes so that appropriate resource amount is available for each pod.
Support for Kata Containers on AKS for Pod Sandboxing
The support for Kata containers paves the way for users now to achieve higher security for resources and applications workloads especially when they share a single AKS cluster and stronger workload isolation.
